📦 Orders & Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Canadian orders are shipped via standard mail and typically arrive within 5 to 14 business days. A tracked shipping upgrade is available at checkout and is recommended for added peace of mind. International orders (including the US) are shipped as tracked parcels. Delivery times vary by destination and cannot be guaranteed unless Express Post is selected at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. All international orders are shipped as fully tracked parcels. We made this decision after experiencing too many lost packages with untracked international mail, and we believe your order deserves to arrive safely. Please note that tracked international shipping does come at a higher cost, which is reflected at checkout. We appreciate your understanding, as this policy exists entirely to protect your purchase.

Can I track my order?

Canadian standard mail orders are untracked by default. A tracked shipping upgrade is available at checkout. All international orders include tracking.

What if my order is lost or delayed?

We are unable to take responsibility for delays or lost packages sent via standard untracked mail. We strongly recommend selecting the tracked shipping upgrade if you have concerns. For tracked orders, please contact us if your package has not arrived within the estimated timeframe.

What packaging do you use?

We package all orders using reused bubble wrap and shredded paper. While our packaging materials are not 100% recycled, we make a conscious effort to reuse and reduce waste wherever possible. We believe every small step counts.

What materials are your buttons made from?

We carry buttons in a wide range of natural and synthetic materials including wood, corozo (tagua / vegetable ivory), buffalo horn, seashell, resin, plastic, and metal. See our Button Material Guide for a full comparison.

How do I choose the right button size?

Use our Button Size Chart to convert between Ligne (L), millimetres (mm), and inches. All AvocadoStitches buttons are measured in millimetres.

How many buttons do I need for my project?

Please refer to our How Many Buttons Do I Need? guide for recommendations by garment type.

Will colours look exactly as shown?

Actual colours may vary slightly due to screen settings and natural material variation. For natural materials such as wood, corozo, horn, and seashell, slight colour and pattern variations between buttons and batches are expected and are characteristic of the material.

🧹 Care & Washing

Can I machine wash garments with wooden or corozo buttons?

Hand washing at 30°C is strongly recommended for wooden and corozo buttons. Machine washing is possible at 30°C; however, high spin cycles should be avoided, particularly for larger buttons. Do not use bleach or harsh detergents. Air dry only.

How do I care for seashell buttons?

Wash inside a laundry bag. Hand washing is strongly recommended, as machine spinning may cause damage. Air dry only. Do not use bleach.

How do I care for metal or rhinestone buttons?

Hand wash only in cold water using a mild detergent. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or dry clean. Lay flat to dry away from heat.
